Behind The Veil

The photo captures Shahd, an actress and physical therapist, after returning from her studies at An-Najah National University — carrying with her a deep longing for the stage where she grew up since childhood. Before academic commitments in a field far from art, such as physical therapy, pulled her away, Shahd was an inseparable part of the spirit of this theater in Balata Refugee Camp in Nablus. In this very moment, I wanted to reveal her childlike joy and the burst of artistic energy in her eyes as she stepped once again onto the stage — as if returning to her first home, a place that breathes art despite all distance and distraction.
